In 1989 Andy Berg and David Homrich recognized an opportunity to provide wealth management services to high net worth families. They believed the financial services industry was not offering the type of services wealthy investors wanted and needed. Most of the advice given was not conflict-free, thus the client could not be sure advice received was in his or her best interest. Homrich & Berg, Inc. ("H&B") was formed to provide comprehensive financial planning and investment advisory services on a fee-only basis. Andy and David borrowed $100,000 from Andy's father and opened H&B in Buckhead Plaza, the same space H&B currently occupies.
H&B's business is the preservation and growth of wealth for individuals, families and not for profits. We have 50 employees and serve over 350 relationships in 29 states. Client service "teams" generally include four employees - a principal, a senior associate, an associate, and an administrator. Assets under our discretionary management exceed $1.7 billion. H&B is owned by the firm's six Principals and is an independent firm with no parent company.
